How to: Ombre nails

Ombre nails are really popular at the moment, they look really professional and can be used as a design itself or as a base for another design.
If you want to know how to do them then keep on reading..

For this design I used a light purple and dark purple, you can use any colour you want, make sure you start with the light colour as the base colour like shown in the picture, if you are using two dark colours then use a white as the base colour.

As ombre nails can become quite messy rub vaseline around the nail make sure not to go onto the nail as it effects the nail polish. vaseline stops the nail polish sticking to your nails which means you don't have to mess around with nail polish remover.

To do the effect all you need is a piece of everyday washing up sponge cut it so it is wide and long enough to cover your longest and widest nail.

Paint the light and dark nail polish on the sponge.

Then dab the sponge on the nail, you ,may have to dab a few times but try not to move the sponge up and down try to focus on going left and right.

Then just using a Q-tip wipe around the nail and just pick up all the excess nail polish and vaseline.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the finished design so I found a similar image on line, this is what the finished design looks like.

This is website I got the image from:
